City Hall Renovation

St. Albans, VT

The St. Albans City Hall was constructed in 1895 and is a two-story wood framed structure with single story gymnasium attached. The building has seen very limited improvements since it was constructed. In 2014, the City residents voted to approve a major renovation of this building, which includes a new City Clerk’s office with larger vault, handicap accessibility, the installation of two elevators and general architectural, mechanical and electrical improvements. Site improvements include reconstruction of the rear parking area, front steps and new water and sewer utilities. Cross Consulting Engineers was retained by Arnold and Scangas Architects, the Project Manager, to prepare the design for the civil and structural portions of this project, as well as to apply for the necessary utility permits. This project commenced construction in May of 2015.
