Vermont Precision Tools is one of the largest employers in Swanton. After they outgrew their original facility, they worked with Franklin County Industrial Development Corp. (FCIDC) to design and build a new manufacturing facility near Exit 21 off Interstate 89. FCIDC retained Cross Consulting Engineers as the project manager to design the manufacturing building, parking lots and associated site work.
CCE retained mechanical and electrical engineers to assist with the building design. We performed all of the civil engineering design, architectural design and structural design for this building and site. A 17,000 square foot addition was constructed in 2017. The total facility is 107,000 square feet with over 15,000 SF of mezzanine space. One tenant space is provided in the back section of the building, which is currently leased by Franklin County Industrial Development Corp.
CCE applied for and obtained all necessary permits, including Act 250, Stormwater Discharge, and others. We performed full construction administration services and construction observations as the project was being built.
